Conditions seem to be mildly dry due to lack of large snow events.  A few periods of rain and freezing rain have occurred, however totals were not very high. As for actual conditions, the ground appears to be frozen. I have not seen any emerging plant life yet. Temperatures seem to be right around normal for this time of the year.  In a sign of warmer days to come, sand hill cranes have started their migration back north across this area.  The last two days being the most sand hill cranes I've seen in a long time.  I've also seen some robins and heard a red-wing black bird yesterday.
