Soil is quite dry and my sapling dogwoods and black gum are showing stress. At first I thought it was too much water because the Licking River has been up and the grass was growing fast. However, my garden soil is rock hard and digging around my trees has shown dry soil, so I've started watering the garden and trees on a regular basis. In reviewing my daily precipitation reports I see that June had only 2.7 inches and the temperatures have been in the 90s.
